Constitution - Prohibition

The American political experience has included many social movements organized around one issue or policy. Prohibition is one such issue that Americans became involved in around the turn of the 20th century. The movement successfully petitioned the government to make the production, transport, or sale of alcohol illegal with the result that the 18th Amendment was passed in 1920. Thirteen years later, the 21st Amendment repealed the 18th Amendment and alcohol was once again legal in the United States.
